Contemporary Photography

Recently I moved into a new Boston apartment that was complete with brand new appliances, hardwood floors, and beautiful bay windows. After getting over the excitment of a new home, I knew I had to get started on furnishing my new space. Once I managed to bring in furniture, I was excited to see the place turn into my very own customized apartment. I may have had a place to sit down but who can relax with blank, white walls staring you in the face? I found my inspiration for a modern bedroom after finding a close-up floral photograph depicting two vibrant flowers dressed in pinks, oranges and greens that I purchased back in college to dress up the walls of my closet-size dorm room. I paired the old print with a thin, black frame and the new décor worked out marvelously with my black and white themed bedroom!

I wanted to share my apartment story for today's post as a way to tie in our featured topic. Jennifer Squires sells "Fresh Photography for Hip Homes" and resides in London, Ontario. She had contacted me to introduce me to her contemporary collection of photography in nature. Jennifer's beautiful collection of floral photographs instantly reminded me of my framed floral print that continues to hang over my bed and I thought it would be a perfect addition to the Modern Design blog.

Adding a splash of color and texture from modern photography will help complement the simplistic, clean lines of modern furniture. In turn, this will create an inspiring room that reflects your true, unique style! I hope that you enjoy Jennifer's collection as much as I do! Thanks Jennifer!
